Whenever I hear the word "nimble", I think of dear Jack who not only has to be nimble but also quick. And then he has to "jump over the candlestick". That is a task. Lucky for Jack, it's not Candlestick Park on a foggy day!
But I digress.
One of my must-watch shows is CNN's Reliable Sources with host- Wash. Post columnist, Howie Kurtz who is one! I learn alot about the media, journalistic integrity and the gaffes and goofs of the prior media week. On Sunday's show he interviewed Tina Brown of Vanity Fair, New Yorker and a founder of @The Daily Beast. She used the term "nimble" and it caught my ear. I love alliteration and have given programs and written articles and posts on Nuances of Networking, Noteworthy Networking, Noble Networking but never nimble networking.
Yet, the premise of "nimble-ness" fits so well with the concept and process of networking. If you have strong ties and connected relationships, your network will be nimble. That means the people you reach out to for feedback, advice, information respond quickly. They take your calls and/or return them ASAP, respond to your emails/posts/tweets/updates because there is a relationship in place.
In this fast-paced, always on/ 24-7 whirling world, we need to be sure we are strongly connected to our colleagues, co-workers, family and friends to ensure nimble networking should we ever be in need for quick and thorough responses.
