Having a funny bone means that you have a sense of humor; an appreciation for that which is ironic, satirical, LOL funny. It doesn't mean you are necessarily a good joke teller or story teller but that you appreciate those who are.
A FUNNY bone is often accompanied by a hearty laugh. Even better if it's one that's infectious. For me, being around people who have no sense of humor or one so vastly different from mine that is seems there is none...is deadly boring. One way we can assess who in our business networks we ought to spend time with is based on enjoyment, fun and humor. I can't ever recall saying: "I ought to make a call (or get together with.....), the bore."
Shared Sense of Humor is Crucial.
If you spend time with someone and never share a smile or laugh, you ought to allocate spending that time with someone more interesting and fun. It one criterion by which we can both clean out and expand our business and personal networks.
To Expand Your Humor Quotient
Read about comedians/humorists.
Attend comedy competitions.
Look for opportunities to attend comedy in your AREA.
Watch comedies. (One of my secret pleasure is Comedy Central's Futurama).
Attend local comedy club open mic nights.
Hang out with people who have a hearty laugh!
Go to every business event with the intent to have a good time...and you will.
Wow, someone who actually sees the benefit of laughter.
It amazes me how many authors talk about the fact that people buy from people they like, yet never talk about humor. Does not make sense to me, since I like to laugh with the people I like.
Thanks for your blog!

First of all likkle? Second of all do you have a set of Irish twins, a spuose who, well lets just say is a third child and 2 mammoth dogs? Oh and a 5 and 7 year old that I help take care of. Hmmm? Factor in the baby gates and the amount of laundry that needs to go down on a daily basis. What else exactly would my spuose have to do if he didn't have to pick up towels? Work? He can do that from the basement. Work and catch my damn towels all day! 0Was this answer helpful?
